Campaign Season 2016Regardless of the outcome in the fall, the Election of 2016 is a historic one. There has been an incredibly amount significant events in this cycle, and we still do not officially have a nominee for either party. As the school year is winding down, it would be a wonderful summer challenge for students or an early activity in the fall to make sense of all this information. For the older students, it is important that they educate themselves on the issues and the candidates’ stances, making sure that their vote is an informed vote.

 

Voting is essential to keep the democracy functioning. It is important that students and young adults buy into voting. While 2016 is a presidential year, so turnout is expected to be higher than normal, it is important that voting in local elections happens as well. This tool should help to assist students in making informed decisions on candidates for any election in the country. Doing the research and understanding candidates stances on the issues is essential. The most important part is that everyone votes.

Using this template, students can create 8.5 in x 14 in candidate posters. Students would then have the opportunity to download and create their own candidate posters. This would allow them to fill in the information and make an informed decision on the race(s) in question. Feel free to use it as you see fit.
